As well as co-ordinating investment in 7 routes, comprising 350 miles of Strategic Walks in London, Walk London gathers data on a number of key indicators to monitor use, quality and satisfaction with the Network each year. Some headlines that may be of interest to our visitors/walkers from 2008-09:

Nearly 10 000 leaflets were posted out as a result, an increase of 14% on the previous year
These comprise only 2% of all leaflets as over 500 000 were downloaded from the website
A further 528 000 leaflets were distributed throughout London to libraries etc.
The audio versions of all the walks received 871 calls
300 Certificates of Completion have been issued to walkers who have completed all of any one route
Only 29% of Londoners are physically active (defined as a minimum of 3 sessions of 30 mins exercise a week) whereas 70% of all users of the Strategic Walk Network are physically active
The routes are increasingly being used by people with disabilities (comparable to the London average) and an ethnically diverse background
A grand total of over 4 000 people have been on Walk London’s three annual free led walking weekends since Nov 2007
